New Business

  • Proposal to change Band Booster meetings to the 1st Tuesday night of each month at 5:45 pm was passed. The Motion was made by Greg Owens and 2nd by Melody Owens.  This will make it easier since all parents are already at the band room to pick up their child anyway. Hopefully this will encourage more parents to be involved in the Boosters.

Open Floor or any other new business

  • FUNDRAISER COMMITTEE – Discussed rehashing the 24hr show at the Middle School for February of 2008. Mrs. Reagh is going to talk with Mr. Jennings (Middle School Principle) for permission.

 Old Business 

1.     Band room clean-up scheduled for camp week has been cancelled. 

2.     JAMBOREE BOOTH JULY 6 & 7 

  • Please Sign up to work! All parents are strongly encouraged to help. See Mrs. Teresa to sigh up for one (or more) shifts. Whatever time you can give would be appreciated.
  • Still need Lots of Cornbread and Fried Pies… (we always run out) See Mrs. Teresa if you or someone you know would like to make one of these Items.
  • Need someone to transport Booth, Freezer, Refrigerator & Grill to Jamboree Site on Thurs. July 5th @ 5:00.  Greg, Tammy, and Kennie Barnes are scheduled to meet on Wednesday the 4th.  They will assemble the “food prep” booth on the trailer and will be ready to deliver at the square by Thursday.
  • Grill needs cleaning.  This is scheduled just before the above item.
  • Need Volunteers for booth set up and tear down Sat. night @ 12:00?  See Mrs. Teresa for the Sign-Up List. Again we’ll need a LOT of help to get this out. We’ll all be tired, so the more we have the quicker we can sleep.

3.     Ad Money for the Football Programs is Due in ASAP.

·        Please encourage the football team and cheerleaders to get their ads as well.  

4.  07-08 Band Fee of $260 needs to be turned into Melody Owens by July 12.  We must pay up front and need this money to pay TTU.  (Band Camp July 22-27)

·        Parents are needed to chaperone (2 for each gender, each night) See Mrs. Teresa for the Sign-Up Sheet.

·        The Ice Cream Night at camp has been postponed for a later Rehearsal (August 2nd After rehearsal)

·          The Swimming Pool at Tech will be opened one night for students during camp.

 5. Fall Little Ceasar’s Fundraiser is set for Delivery on Nov. 15th @12:00 Order taking will start on approximately Oct. 25th and last order must be turned in by Nov. 9th.

 

Announcements

  • 07-08 marching show was purchased for around $1500.00 (music, drill & guard work) we paid a $200 deposit with a letter in intent to pay for it as soon as we can. Mrs. Reagh is going to fish the option of paying for the show with the money provided by the county.
  • The DCHS BAND was awarded Hometown Help by MTNG in the amount of $500. Mrs. Melody deposited it into the saving account for future uniform payments. A special Thank You to Middle Tennessee Natural Gas for the Generous Donation.
  • Fair Performance Saturday July 28th @ 5:00 (pit bus)

·        A Car-Wash fundraiser is scheduled tentatively for August.

 ·        Back to School Kick Off Performance Downtown Aug. 6th at 6:30 (pit bus) (student registration day) 

·        Next Booster Meeting TUESDAY August 7th  @ 5:45pm following rehearsal. 

·        August 8th (first full day of school)
